How To Make a Bottle Top Opener | Red Hot Building

On this episode of Red Hot Building, Amanda is showing you how to open your beer with a little style. This bottle top opener has a built-in feature of not losing those caps when you pop the top.

What you’ll need:

  1. Drill (with Phillips head bit)
  2. Circular Saw
  3. 120 Grit Sandpaper
  4. Sander
  5. Tape Measure
  6. Sander
  7. 1/2″ Wood Screws
  8. Plunge Router
  9. 3/4″ Router Bit
  10. Magnets
  11. Bottle Opener

We’ll cut the board down to your desired size and lightly sand the board. Next, turn the board over and use the router to make eight holes for the magnets. Go as far as you can into the board without breaking through the front side. Make sure these holes are positioned under the bottle top opener so they can catch the cap.

Now that you’ve routed the holes, super glue the magnets down into the holes.

The last thing to do is attach your bottle opener to the front, and then bam! Open your beer without leaving the floor looking like a frat house party.
