How To Make an Entry Way Bench | Red Hot Building

An entryway bench is not only a functional piece of furniture, but it can also be an incredibly stylish addition to your home. With the right design and material, an entryway bench can serve as a statement piece that sets the tone for your entire home decor.

What you’ll need:

  1. (1) 2″ x 10″ x 6′
  2. (1) 2″ x 10″ x 5’9″
  3. (2) 2″ x 10″ x 16 1/2″
  4. (2) 2″ x 10″ x 14″
  5. Pencil
  6. Tape Measure
  7. Miter Saw
  8. Drill
  9. Pocket Hole Jig
  10. 1 1/4″ Pocket Hole Screws
  11. Paint Brush
  12. Stain

First, cut your boards. Cut one board at six feet long, one board at five feet nine inches, two boards at 16 and one half inches, and two boards at 14 inches.

Next, drill some pocket holes. On the 16 and a half inch long board, drill four pocket holes on one end. On the 14 inch board, drill two pocket holes on each end. Lastly, on the five feet, nine inch board, drill four pocket holes on each end.

Now it’s time to assemble the bench using two inch pocket hole screws. First attach the 16 and a half inch boards to the top. Next, attach the two 14 inch boards each 22 and a quarter inches from the inner edge of the end board. And lastly, attach the bottom.

The last step is to pick your favorite color and get to staining. When you’re finished, give it a coat of poly and voila. You’ve got a brand new hand made entry way bench.
